准备面试时候看了被同侪们多次提到的的 Alex Yu 的 System Design Interview: An Insider's Guide，比意料中实用。开始看头几章科普时候还会担心讲得太浅，到实际案例的时候就发现深度不错很适合一小时面试的 scope，而且意外还学到了些新东西，面试倾向的又不像 DDIA 挖那么深所以好读很多。选的案例也都很经典（除了最后两个个人觉得有点偏），而且有层层递进关系看得甚至有点小爽。书里给的 get buy in - estimate (这个环节我不喜欢) - dive deep - wrap up 的面试套路也挺有启发。总之全书看下来比零散地看没深度的 YouTube system design 讲解系统多了，立刻就去买了 volume 2。豆瓣短评里说简笔画火箭可太贴切了，但没办法就是要考，还是很实用的。

比复习高考还认真地边记笔记边断断续续读了两个多月才读完。不是因为它难读，恰恰相反毕竟是 YouTube 第一科普博主写的书，全书都非常贯彻”Explain to me like I’m 5“的深入浅出原则（有时候甚至娓娓道来到有点啰嗦），充满了比喻和多角度的解释，有时候引人入胜好看到秉烛夜读。但免疫系统本身真的太复杂了，本书信息量也极大，本来是冲着 Kurzgesagt 可爱的画风来的以为是轻松小品，没想到插画只是点缀文字读起来是大部头。读完受益匪浅，对免疫系统有了个超级简化版本的大致了解。这么重要的知识课本里竟然只是冰山一角令人遗憾，推荐给所有人阅读。
被书中各种令人啧啧称奇的菌类知识不断刷新三观，甚至是比读 An Immense World 动物感官世界更能颠覆，对世界、生命和智能的认知，远比科幻能写出来的还更神秘和惊奇。比如，90% 的植物都离不开菌类帮助吸收营养，孢子无处不在，菌类网络与人脑神经网络完全不在一个位面的认知系统等等。作者对菌类的热爱和痴迷溢于言表非常有感染力，看得人充满了追随书里的松露猎人一样上山入林去挖蘑菇的冲动。
较为失望。本以为会看到很多新奇小众好玩的活动/日程点子，结果更像是一个活动/餐厅/酒吧的 list，内容其实也没多 date specific，作者夫妻甚至都不住在西雅图，只是写了本波特兰版之后出版商来要西雅图版，本可以甚至更应该是几篇博客（因为配图和链接更灵活）。内容按与西雅图的距离画了 5 个圈分开讲，想法听起来不错直到你看到温哥华和 Whistler 分在两个大类里书里隔了十万八千里，（记得这算是西雅图 date idea 吗）who earth will travel like that？单篇 date 的分块又都是地理位置 based，时间和类型上都不是既拿既用的日程安排，最后就还是会沦为地点 list。配图多元成家友好，个别活动有参考价值，优点到此为止。
这里摘抄出来一些我个人比较感兴趣的地点/活动（饭店酒吧 live house 之类的就全略过了）供参考。当然也因为个人兴趣不同摘抄重点不一定是读者感兴趣的，有些地方我可能觉得太大众了也没摘抄，想看原文的话适合书店翻阅或者图书馆借阅，不推荐购买。（我边把笔记打成字边觉得怎么被我一摘抄完反而觉得书好看了呢…… 但很多内容都是我补充的，原书真的读起来味同嚼蜡相信我🤣）
